If you are anything like me, then ice cream is high on your list of cheat foods. And if you are anything like me you know ice cream is not the way towards a healthy and fit body. However, there is the perfect ice cream for staying fit, cheat day or not! And that ice cream is HALO TOP by Eden Creamery LLC. I’m not saying you can’t have ice cream every now and then, but with Halo Top you can have ice cream more often than usual. And still stay in great shape.
But How Does Halo Top Taste
That’s a reasonable question. Halo Top ice cream tastes great. Obviously, if I’m asking my taste buds to choose between Halo Top or Blue Bell I’m picking the latter every time. Aside from my Texas born bias let’s be real, the full calorie whole milk version of ice cream will always taste better. And let’s not even get into Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
The point is that Halo Top tastes great for a diet ice cream. Actually, it tastes better than any diet ice cream I’ve ever had.
It even tastes better than some of the lower grade, regular ice cream brands out there. What I like about it as well is how light it is. Literally, light on your tongue and in your stomach. Same with the calories it contains but we will get into that in a bit. There is no point in eating ice cream if it’s not going to taste good. And bottom line is that Halo Top tastes great.
So What Does The Calorie Count Look Like
Whole pints of Halo Top ice cream range from only 240 – 360 calories! The first time I saw one at my local Kroger I automatically assumed the calorie count referred to each serving. Nope, that big bold number advertised on every pint of Halo Top represents its calorie count in its entirety! And for fellow body builders and athletes such as myself, you will be pleased to know their pints range in protein from 20 to 24 grams! All of Halo Top’s ice cream flavors are Low-Sugar, Low-Carb and Low-Fat with no synthetic hormones! When you take a look at their ingredient list you will be surprised at how clean it looks. Nothing you can’t pronounce, and nothing you’ve never heard of.
How Much Does A Pint Go For
As of this post, I was able to get myself a pint of vanilla bean Halo Top ice cream on sale for $4.99. Yes, it is definitely on the pricey side. As with everything, there is a give and take. What seems like an almost too good to be true ice cream is actually pretty expensive. Compare it to a pint of Ben & Jerry’s from my same local grocer, and the sale price of Halo Top is still $0.62 more expensive before tax. However, those extra calories from other ice cream brands could cost you more down the road in the long run. The normal price of Halo Top ice cream as of July 2017, when not on sale is $5.49. So that should give you an idea of how expensive it is to stay fit and cheat on your diet at the same time! In all honesty though if you’re only eating this once a week, it can be affordable and GOOD for you!
The Final Scoop
So the low down on Halo Top ice cream is this. From this blogger’s point of view anyways, it is a great tasting ice cream. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it in my humble opinion. The calorie count is low, it is made up of good ingredients and even has a good amount of protein. Every now and then you should definitely indulge in some high calorie, extremely tasty Ben & Jerry’s or something of the sort. However, you can cheat more frequently with some good tasting, low-calorie Halo Top ice cream. That’s all for this week on The Cheat Menu. Wishing y’all a fit yet satisfying week!
